Obituary
In Loving Memory of Charles David McMullen Jr.
Charles David McMullen Jr. was born on Fbruary 16th, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to Charles David McMullen Sr. and Dorothy Mae Allen. The oldest of five children Rachel, Victoria, Carl, and Ruby. Charles grew up surrounded by family, laughter, and love.
He attended Austin High School, St. Mel's Catholic School, and Job Corps of Chicago, where he began shaping the hardworking, caring, and determined man he would become.
At 17, Charles met the love of his life, Rosie Mae Sallie. Their connection was immediate and unshakable, and they were married on March 10th, 1970.
Together, they built a loving home and family. Charles became a proud father to his son Darryl and his daughter Shelia, who were the center of his world.
Charles’ career journey was as vibrant as his personality. From volunteering as a firefighter in Carol Stream to working as a truck driver for Illinois Vendor Supply of America, he approached every job with dedication and integrity. He also founded his own video recording company, C&C Video and Music Recordings, capturing memories for families and friends, and later served as an office manager and charter coordinator, finishing his career at a company he loved named Five Star Charters.
Charles was preceded in death by his father Charles David McMullen Sr., beloved mother Dorothy McMullen, sister Victoria Allen, and grandson Charles Anthony Riley.
He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory in their hearts forever: his devoted wife, Rosie McMullen; son Darryl McMullen and daughter Shelia McMullen-Thomas (her husband, Eric Thomas); grandchildren, Devon Carlson McMullen, Natasha Marie McMullen, Deannah Rose McMullen, and Savannah Rose McMullen; siblings, Rachel Fox, Carl McMullen, and Ruby Adams; and countless family and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and generosity.
Charles had a way of making everyone feel special, loved, and appreciated. His laughter, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
For all who knew him he would always end a conversation with a simple but unforgettable message to his girls:
“Remember who loves u.”
